Let’s get this out of the way, the doom/stoner scene is filled with a ton of bands that grab orange amps and sound virtually the same. Not everyone can sound like Matt Pike (High on Fire).
Enter Witchsnake, a twosome that is full of weed and demonology. On Full Moon Wizardry you will be transported to the outer plane filled with reverb, space slugs and fulfilling drudgery! Al’s meandering solos fill the bong filled air with the jam that any mentally adjusted individuals would want. The chug at the end gives you just enough pain to know you are still alive.
The Acid Dead is a wall of sound. My car windshield rattled during this monstrosity of a song. The rhythmic beat crushes until Al decides to mix some spit into the doomy delight. The slow burn of the track would be enough to drive any elderly person to dig their own grave and bury themselves alive. Perfect!
Weed of The Witch / Black Trip kicks in with a bass line that would make Geezer Butler himself smile. The jam elements of the track is its strong suit. I suspect live this track will travel to many forms. Evolving art if you will.
Hellrider 666 is a slow chug that burns and cuts with might. Longtime fans of doom and stoner will bob their pie eyed faces in unison to this track.
For being a first release, this is a monster effort from Al-Guitars, Bass, Joe-Drums. All I ask is let’s get more vocals on future releases. Let the demon speak! 😈
8 out of 10, keep an eye peeled on these dimension travelers.
