Sleeping With The Witch is a destructive collision of Death Metal and Cross Over Thrash! Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, these rocks are filled with piss n vinegar and oozing with talent that is portrayed perfectly on this two song EP tickler!
Meth Church begins with a slow build complete with thumbnail string drags. The riff assault kicks and James Maxam breaks out a murderous death metal bark. The surprise occurs when a high pitched scream pops up during the chorus. It screams Maiden, Queensryche and Judas Priest. I absolutely love this track as it takes many elements of beloved metal genres and melds them into a formidable force. All the while…you will head-bang in metal agreement. High and low pitched vocals. Ripping riffs. Shredding solo. Killer production. What is there to not like?
Jonestown starts with a classic hardcore play, samples with a speech that inspires. I couldn’t distinguish who it was speaking, but who cares. You quickly forget about the speech when the power of the riff compels you to throw down! Chug and growl aplenty, this track brutalizes until Maxam and Barr finger tap and cut with authority through the later part of the track. Fucking awesome!
I will take one for the team and sleep with the bloody witch to get a full length out of these guys. Keep an eye on this band. They are tight, talented and have a unique place with their metal fury!
