Scowl - Psychic Dance Routine

Scowl - Psychic Dance Routine

If you have not heard of Scowl, then your head is most likely square up your ass. Here is the story. Scowl was a hardcore band that evolved musically and has an absolute future star in Kat Moss fronting the band. Kat is one my favorite young vocalists. One second she spits venom with a grating scream, and the next she will get melodic and make everyone forget Courtney Love!

This Jekyll and Hyde trade off is never more apparent then on Shot Down. Frightening mood swings…but in a good way.

Psychic Dance Routine is the highest rated song by the band, but feels misleading. It is a far cry from hardcore, but is a “grungy” ode the the past with a Cobain like sound that is familiar, but modern. While I love the hook of the chorus, the track as a whole keeps Kat locked up. Me likey the screaming Kat!

Wired is a punk/hardcore song with an upbeat tempo. It is a bass driven monster of a song. Kat is wired with an electricity you have to hear. A perfect blend of punk/hardcore and grunge. A worthy blend!

Sell Out is a hardcore masterpiece. Breakdowns and chaos ensue while Kat purges her demons! Tasty!

Kat Bjelland from Babes In Toyland paved the way for Scowl. But Kat Moss can do it all vocally and is far more vicious then Love and Bjelland could have ever dreamed. She is also fortunate to have Malachi Greene, who has taken notes from the past, while strumming a sound that is agreeable to any generation of headbangers and rockers.

The metal and rock world is Kat Moss’s for the taking. Enjoy watching her grow with a Bruce Banner roar that matches her currently green hair! 💪

8 out 10. @scowl40831 please keep the bark and hardcore roots as you climb the ranks.
