Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol - Doom Wop

Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol - Doom Wop

Our good friend @dfrost.jpg turned us onto Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol and damn are we glad he did.

Occasionally you happen across new music that turns your wheels. Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol 2022 release Doom Wop not only turns my wheels, it drives me out to dinner and dessert and then takes me to a Grade A movie.

We here at Sh!t Talk Reviews try and keep our reviews to recent releases, but I had to break the rules here. From the first chugs of the opening track Shoo In, I was hooked. It’s raw, gritty and completely awesome. Super tight and punchy and riddled with attitude. I love the tones; thick and meaty.

Going through the album’s tracks, I keep wanting to replay songs because they’re just that tasty. There’s a familiar flavor to this band that makes for a super comfortable listening experience, but at the same time they’re beating their own path through the jungle of current music offerings. It’s mean and ugly, but still sweet and pretty (in all the right ways.)

Some of the standouts for me are the title track Doom Wop, I’m The Fucking Man and the album closer The Bog. I might just need to get my ass out to Austin, TX to get a little more of these three cats. Great stuff.

Score - A super hard 8.5. These guys are solid and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them.
