Lucifuge - Monoliths of Wrath

Lucifuge - Monoliths of Wrath is an ode to another time when barbarians dominated the earth…..like….say in the 1980’s! Ok that is a lie, but that is how this record sounds.
Prepare for early Slayer, minus Araya’s occasional high pitched screams. I am not saying Lucifuge is Slayer, but from a production standpoint this is an early 80’s thrash record reminiscent of Slayers early work, with a distinct black metal influence. Blasphemy and the big bird to religion, Lucifuge’s game is speed and carving pentagrams into flesh. Lyrically, they are dire in the best way possible. From The Art of Putresence:
“I have given up future and philosophy. Owning merely a cot on which to unlearn the sun and signs. Stretched out there, spin out the hours. Objects with suggest suicide”
Vocally the band is tonality a straight forward devilish growl. I would love to hear lower end and higher end barks on future releases. But a minor complaint!

7.8: rip it and be transported to a world of Conan with an 80’s thrash soundtrack.
