Heaven’s Gate - EP

There is something wretched decaying in Tampa Bay, Florida? That smell of eradicated flesh is coming from the poor souls that elect to see Heaven’s Gate’s live shows. The fury of their live might will rip your face off (see their album cover for proof) and leave wreckage behind.
Consisting of Tony Foresta on vocals, Mike Goo on guitar, Jeff Howe on bass & backing vocals, and Paul Mazurkiewicz on drums, drums, this 4 piece packs a #crossoverthrash punch that took ample notes from the past when charging into making their mark!
Smear Crusade is the beast of the batch. Intricate riffs (think Fugitive)and blast beats lead the bridge of the track to a payload of gang vocals during the maniacal chorus! I love the ode to Tony Iommi with a subtle Black Sabbath (the song) finger tap! Creative.
Into the Sinkhole starts off sounding like Drug Church with a slow dirge. But that comparison ends there as Tony growls out his demons. This slow build pays the listener 10 fold for sticking with the slow build. The Alice In Chains chug and bends will make you forget you are listening to a thrash band. Talent much?
Skyway is my favorite track on the record. The band cuts a slice across their collective stomachs and let their innards spill here. Riffs, angst, dire samples, and an emotional payload to end the record will leave the listener exhausted after only 5 songs. That is a good thing. You would any want the journey to Heaven’s Gate to be puppy dogs and unicorns….that would be boring.

7.5 out if 10: Give me a full length and keep eviscerating the skin off faces boys! 🤘🏻
