Heart Of A Coward brings another level of heavy with their 2023 singles “Decay” and “This place only brings death.” A thick, in-your-face production perfectly balances crushing riffs and savage vocals with layers of industrial flavor and melodic passages. Both tracks employ perfect touches of electronic and atmospheric flavor against the 10-ton guitar work of guitarists Dan Thornton and Carl Ayers and bassist Vishal Khetia. Kaan Tasan and Ayers’ clean vocals are as soothing and comfortable as their aggressive vocals are brutal and violent. Christopher Mansbridge brings superbly massive drums that smack like an industrial jack hammer. All these guys are real damn solid.
I’m definitely a fan of their earlier releases, but there’s something new about these two tracks that brings them to a new level for me. It’s no surprise that Heart Of A Coward is sharing the stage with powerhouse bands like Leprous these days. These guys are packing serious power, bringing great tones, well crafted parts and killer production together for two monstrous new tracks.
I want more and I want it now. Excellent, excellent stuff. These guys are absolutely worth the listen.
