Go Ahead And Die - Tumors (song review)

Go Ahead And Die - Tumors (song review)

Max Cavalera is a riffing machine. We just finished doing an episode on the reissues of Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation and here Max is again putting forth a brutal new track that cannot be ignored. According to Max; “More brutal, feral, extreme, and intense than ever before! The album goes in a deep dive into the mental health subject and it's produced by Igor A! It's by far the most anarchist record I've ever been a part of in my entire career!"

Go Ahead And Die is a side project with Max’s son Igor Amadeus Cavalera and Johnny Valles on drums. The first record was a raw chug fest, so I was excited to see this pop on Tuesday of this week. So is it actually a worthy investment?

Tumors is an honest track about toxic fandom and the shitty use of social media to tear down artists, management and fellow humans. At the outset feedback greats you till a classic “max track” pummels you with groove and bite. Max sounds a demon grunting and snarling his way through the bridge. Think black metal meeting thrash in a gnarly collision of power chords! Big balls.

The speed and precision of the second half of the track demands punching your social media bulky. Head bang your way over to their house, knock on their front door, and punch em hard when they answer. That sums up the track. It is a emotional banger!

On a serious note. The message is clear. Be kind. Seriously. Nobody should be hiding behind a digital mask and tearing anyone down.

8 out of 10, am honest release of frustration that fucking rocks! Unhealthy Mechanisms full length will be out October 20th on Nuclear Blast.
