Geld - Currency // Castration

Geld - Currency // Castration

There are few things I like more then the words rowdy and noisy. Both are operative with Geld.
With Currency I hear a combo of Power Trip meets Converge. Riffy, noisey, raw! This track rumbles at a frantic pace. No Al Smith other then a stank belch at the most stanky of heavy parts.
Chained at The Gate is a punk song at its core, but Al’s vocals and production values keep the listener chained to noisecore and thrash. Fundamentally, the structure of the song and guitars are punk! Fascinating! (insert Leonard Nimoy eyebrow raise)
Clock Keeps Crawling is also a curious case. Grounded in punk, noise and Al’s raspy venom, there is melody layered on top. An artfully done murder if you will. Still putrid, but also pretty. Love this energetic monstrosity.
Gas of Corruption is lyrically what you think. I appreciate the political fuel and truth!
Success is a perfect track. Great riffs and there is a payload of punk infused noise in the middle of the track that hits like Kong. The solo is in more in line with ZZ Top which is a unique dynamic.
Secret is Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan with punk undertones. A frantic and chaotic listen that made my dog run around in circles in the backyard. Golden Retriever circle pit!
Currency // Castration is a dirty listen. Old people will hate this. That makes it a great album by my count….no I’m not old yet! Stream this bitch and be sure to put on a padded hat if you see their live show!

8 out of 10: Australia should be proud of these genre stretchers!
