Enforced is a manufacturer of fist punching riffs. As babies (At The Walls) they beat their parents. As teenagers (Killgrip), they pummeled their pansy ass classmates. As adults, they unleashed War Remains and they are kicking the door in to take over the Kingship of Crossover Thrash! Warfare is in their musical blood!
Hanged By My Hand is Crossover royalty. It is primal in every way. Wagstaff and Monahan are riffy, whirly and provide all the gun fire needed for lead throat Knox Colby to orchestrate blood shed. And he is not wrong with his worldview: “ Some gleaming future trope. I'd rather choke on rope. Then see the powers act like they're built on moral ground.”
War Remains sees the band build in tempo until they bust out some old school Slayer riffs and wage total annihilation. Knox barks some truth about human nature: “ It's a matter of how and when. War is what makes us human. Killer instincts to the top of the chains War remains.” The solo in this track takes me back to some old 80’s Death. Perfection.
Whatever happened in Richmond Virginia has influenced arguably one of the most stellar rising bands in Metal. I would have loved to done a podcast on this album, but it would make Dave cry, and there is no crying in Metal. Props to Enforced for perfecting their craft. Every album raises the bar of their obvious metal domination! Has to be in the discussion for Album of The Year!
8.5 out of 10: Best “war” music since Chemical Warfare!! Not kidding! 🤘🏻
