@electrikeelband might be an unknown here in the United States. Hailing from Spain, these #crossoverthrash destroyers should be a known entity in these parts and all parts. They are students of metal and it shows.
Speed is the word on Straight Outtah Depths. The first notes are a black metal riff that instantly gives way to gallop drums and a flying bridge to a chorus which is an onslaught. Vocally Asier Bendoiro (Guitars, Vocals) is similar to Randy from Lamb of God! Musically, they are more of the Exodus variety. The lead on this track makes me think of Eric Peterson of Testament. Like I said…these evil fuckers should be known.
I love Beer Fueled Machine. This is a party song with cocaine like speed. Whirling guitars and large gang vocals will stir you into a tizzy! Speed and testosterone is formula here.
Cold Fire, Dark Light is a tad slower with some serious groove. This track breathes a bit and allows for black metal and thrash metal riffs to trade off. A guitar battle if you will. The solo in the middle is intricate. The song as a whole is for people who love the guitar as an instrument. A ripping track!
The Crawl of The Deceased starts off with some spooky old move samples. A much slower track with an evil vibe to start. Inevitably the speed returns to melt your ears. Again, it sounds like a young Randy Blythe if he joined Exodus in the 80’s.
Xenonorph’s are arguably one of the coolest horror movie villains of all time. It would stand to reason they would inspire a thrash metal song. The Xenomoroh is the strongest track on the album as a result of that inspiration. A technical horror of a song…and I say that with love. The guitar tones sound like early Megadeth, while Laguna patters a beast of a spine to the song.
The world is vast and humans are mostly lazy fucks. But when you look, you will find diamonds. Here is a diamond that fell into my lap. Straight Outtah Depth is fast as fuck, tons of solos and riffs. A nice blend of black metal meets thrash with an obvious ode to the past.
8 out of 10: I’d like to hear tempo changes and multiple riffs weaved together in future releases. The future is bright for these studious metal fans.
