Doomsday EP

Doomsday EP

Doomsday’s 2022 release Depictions of Chaos was a bloodbath of thrashy delight. Attaining Heaven by Force was one of my favorite tracks of 2022. To my surprise Carlos Velazquez- Vocals, Marc Estabillo- Drums, Glendon Diaz l- Bass, Ryan Calaveras- Guitar, Michael Chavez- Guitar, and Robert “Big Rob” DeLorenzi - Guitar, return to spill more blood.

Fittingly, Blood Tactics is the track that kicks the piranha feeding frenzy. What is the meat? Gallop drums and riffs that will make even the most seasoned Power Trip and Metallica fans have no issue diving into this EP. Carlos has a raspy voice that has some enhanced confidence with this offering. He is now a voice to pay attention to. The chug to close this track out is epic as all fucks.

Inherit the Flesh is fast! It made me think MOD (Method of Destruction) with the groove. Carlos even had a bit of a Billy Milano thing going on vocally. But if speed, thrash and ripping solos is your thing…then get ready to get horny as all hell. You will hump your phone or smart speaker to this track. Promise.

To show Doomsday belongs as an up and comer, they covered Metallica’s Trapped Under Ice. It is precise, unleashes killer gang vocals, and Carlos shows there is nothing he can’t do vocally. Solos are note for note with the original. Execution wise, this version is Doomsdays interpretation perfectly executed with a more raw and hardcore edge.

8 out of 10: I suspect a larger label will be looking to put these guys on a grander stage!
