There are times in life when you fall hopelessly in love. For me the first time was watching Darth Vader cut his sons hand off. Henceforth, I was smitten for Darth. The most recent chubby arose when I heard Boundless Domain.
Founded in 2015 by vocalist Reese Alavi, guitarist Trey Pemberton, bassist Eric Mejia, and drummer Lincoln Mullins, Creeping Death has perfectly meshed thrash with death metal.
Boundless Domain starts off with sinister undertones and immediately succumbs to Alavi’s raspy barks and whirling guitars. Pemberton must dream of demon porn, because his riffs and tones are the epitome of sinister. The chug at the end of the track will stir pits silly.
Intestinal Wrap features Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse. The track is a splendid duet of death. Putrid riffs and agonizing death growls trade off as the blood splatters and innards are thrown about. Just a meaty song in the best way possible.
The Parthian Shot is a hit and run war tactic. In audio form, you will hear a classic thrash track with a fast tempo and Akavi’s low end death bark. It is a wonderful contrast complete with cowbell.
Creators Turned Into Prey is a warning about AI, without mentioning AI. “Unrelenting they never tire. Those remaining down on their knees. Eradication of this human disease.” Vicious lyrics that are accompanied by apocalyptic chug.
With Cursed you will consume an ample helping of whirling solos while Alavi warns the effects of our dying earth in relation to generational happiness and health. Aware much? This track takes me back to Testament’s Greenhouse Effect. Powerful and has a conscious.
I could cover every track and highlight the warnings from Alavi. Instead, I will again confess my love for this band. I love my wife, my kids, Darth Vader and Creeping Death! There I said it. I suspect after you hear Boundless Domain you will be in love with them and all of the putrid pummeling that they offer. It’s an abusive relationship in the best way possible!
8.5 out of 10: Endless stank face! A bleeding Hulk of an album.
